Viva La Revolucion!
Political observers and those who are in the U.S. politics wrestling arena know that President Obama and the Democrats’ push for an immigration reform bill is a distraction necessary for upcoming elections. Let’s face it: illegal immigration is a hot, passionate topic that is very polarizing. Generally speaking, Democrats and liberals are more sympathetic than Republicans and Conservatives about the hardships and exploitation that undocumented workers deal with in the U.S.
I don’t think it’s a stretch of the imagination to assume that Rahm Emanuel and his cohorts realize that immigration also plays the infamous RACE CARD that gets everybody riled up.
Heck, the most basic conspiracy theory is that Harry Reid doesn’t want to lose his seat in Nevada, as he would be getting the support of Hispanic voters.
How convenient that this immigration bill is being pushed RIGHT NOW ahead of the climate change/energy bill. Democrats know that the immigration bill probably won’t be passed, but it allows for their Conservative opponents to go on the record against undocumented workers, who have garnered much sympathy in recent years. It allows a huge Hispanic turnout, which pundits say will vote against Republicans (even though Latino Republicans are strongly against reform).
All this does is cause more strife, debates, and divides our nation further. Go ahead and read the comments about illegal immigration from any article linked by DrudgeReport and you will see that once again the same LaME White neo-cons, Tea Party freaks, and others who feel disenfranchised by legalizing the 11 million illegal aliens in the U.S. are posting the HATE again.
Again, the bill won’t pass: thousands of new border agents, a giant fence, 8-year waiting period, sick sick sick sick paperwork for Visas, fingerprinting, background checks, new social security cards- FORGET IT. It’s too EXPENSIVE right now, and many old school white-bread Dems do NOT want to allow this- especially in the Midwest, and states have too many U.S. citizens who are unemployed.
Yes, this is a race issue, a slavery and serfdom issue because companies exploit illegals, an outsourcing issue, and economic issue, and a national identity issue. It’s the wrong time in the current state of the nation, just like the Health Care Bill was the wrong time.
Folks, the bailout bill was a scam, the stimulus package did nothing, the Health Care Bill is a cluster %#%@#…do we really want to radically overhaul immigration? Heck, LEGAL immigrants have to go through so much just to become residents, somehow I doubt illegals will trust this new bill anyway, and the future looks bleak with “registering”. I hate when people are forced to “register”- it’s too much like 1984, Watchmen, and when Iron Man took over the U.S. during Civil War.
Anyway, I’ll pass on discussing the Arizona immigration controversy and what I feel about the moral and ethics involved with legalizing illegal immigrants. You know why? Because even saying “illegal immigrants” instead of “undocumented workers” offends people. Because wanting the current rule of law to be enforced offends people. The truth is we live in a nation that already jumped the shark, so I just have to shrug my shoulders. Don’t care anymore. The purpose of this post is just to call it like I see it- immigration reform is a hot button distraction to aid Democrats in the elections.
