Sarah Palin Book Tour and Sarah Palin MEDIA Coverage

Sarah Palin’s book tour has been covered by every news outlet: mainstream news, political news, and entertainment news. I’m sure you’ve seen the footage of Sarah Palin and Oprah Winfrey sitting together and extending the olive branch.

The MEDIA has no choice but to go full speed ahead with the Sarah Palin publicity blitz. For someone who doesn’t stand a chance to defeat President Obama in 2012, what is the public’s fascination with Sarah Palin?

1) My guy friends tell me she’s a decent looking woman in politics; this is rare.

2) Her interviews are funny in the mocking sense.

3) I still believe the Bible Belt, some conservatives, and anti-Obama factions see her as a “Great White Hope”.

4) Her family- most women I know LOVE to see the Enquirer headlines about some Sarah Palin scandal, her daughters, the retarded kid, her unemployed husband, her brother-in-law, and stuff like that; it’s Jon and Kate Syndrome. 5)

5) Sarah Palin is an Internet sensation..check out these # of daily searches.

Palin 2012?

With Sarah Palin resigning from her 1st term of Governor of Alaska, many political insiders feel that she will make a run to be president, and we’ll have Obama vs Palin OR there could be another major Sarah Palin ethics scandal going on, and it would be best for her to focus on it as a private citizen.

Whatever the reason, Palin is coming off to many as a QUITTER.

Anyway, as much as I thought the desperate GOP made the right decision to use a female populist hockey mom on the McCain ticket last year, my instincts say that Palin 2012 would be a joke.

Although she has FOXNews, Rush Limbaugh, Matt Drudge, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, and other right wing fear-mongers on her side, the mainstream MEDIA, entertainment world, Democrats, typical Internet message board posters, and Average Joe on the street think that she’s…dumb and not a serious candidate.

It truly would be an uphill climb, and I believe the U.S. will give President Obama another term for another chance to see all of his policies for nationalizing the U.S. go through (see the new federal terms for CitiGroup, Bank of America) and to see his public healthcare reform bill pass (“Hello, we are from the federal government; we are here to help you.”)

Interview: Small Business Owners on Obama’s Economic Policies

I conducted four interviews with South Florida small business owners; three from Broward County and one from Dade County, the heart of the South’s Obama Movement.

These guys are employers, and they are technically living the American dream since they are their own bosses and work for themselves. They create work and jobs. They are true capitalists: always looking to cut costs, pay the least, and generate the most profit. They have been their own bosses for the past 10-20 years. They were all 50+ years old. They all have college degrees, houses, wives, and children. All four follow politics, news, MEDIA, radio, and current events daily.

Although none of them gave permission for me to use their names or business names, they did give permission to post their thoughts. (Please note: I did not interview my boss from my office.)

They have been struggling…badly these past few years, and pretty much hit rock bottom this year. All 4 businesses are legitimate, quite big, and nothing illegal.

They were concerned that the economy has slowed, and that their clients didn’t generate enough business for them this year.

They had major issues with the high cost of leasing or buying office space, and all the overhead that goes into running a small business.

All four lost stock values and complained about the gas prices.

All four business were forced to layoff dozens of workers this year.

Only one blamed Bush’s tax cuts for the major corporations and the war in Iraq as reasons for his business’ problems.

1) All 4 were against the bailout plan- the morality and philosophy behind it, as well as the economics.
2) Only 1/4 voted for Obama…and he was a Republican.
3) The one that did vote for Obama bought the McCain = Bush equation, and hated Sarah Palin.
4) The three that voted for McCain (two Republicans and one Independent) were not happy with the current economy, and truly were afraid of Obama and the Democrat’s social plans that they said would create more taxes and government spending.
5) The three listed the following problems: they didn’t believe a word Obama said, and they believe they would be taxed more because of all the government programs Obama will enact, mandatory medical insurance, penalties for outsourcing, an increased minimum wage, and government involvement in 401Ks and unions.
6) The three predicted a recession, and possiblly another Depression.
7) The three labeled Obama as a Robin Hood socialist, and see him being worse than Jimmy Carter….two of the four see Obama as Fidel Castro. They fear he will dig the economy deeper and deeper in debt.
8) None of the three had any issues with Sarah Palin; the one that voted for Obama saw Palin as the dumbest woman in the world.
9) All four are patriotic, and two served in the military. The one that voted for Obama did not factor military service or foreign policy into his decision to vote.
10) The three who voted for McCain had major problems about how the MEDIA was biased towards Obama.
11) The three believe Obama will be weak in foreign policy, and be soft on Iran and Russia.
12) The Obama voter believed McCain would have started World War III.
13) The three hate Obama’s celebrity status, and don’t trust popular orators in politics
(reminded them of Hitler.)

Who won the debate? Joe Biden beats Sarah Palin

The Battle of Two Gimmicks that signifies nothing

Real simple folks:

Joe Biden was more aggressive, made things simple, answered the questions, attacked John McCain, and was reserved enough not to offend the Sarah Palin fans.

I won’t cover every point or topic since you probably already watched it or will watch online.

I will say Sarah Palin may have put up a fight, but let’s not confuse “holding her own” with actually winning. She memorized talking points, catchphrases, and the party line. She still has her appeal to conservative soccer and hockey moms around the nation, so McCain didn’t lose any steam, but he didn’t (or shouldn’t) gain anything either.

Although Biden wasn’t 100% factual, he still gave the impression that he knew what he was talking about. Heck, he looked more presidential than Obama. And that’s all that matters to viewers.

Palin started slow and was dodging questions.

I do commend her for going through the weeks of preparation for this, especially since she has no foreign policy experience or knowledge.

If I were her, I would have attacked Barack Hussein Obama’s patriotism a bit more. I know she mentioned Obama is putting a white flag up in Iraq, but perhaps if she made it more personal from a soldier’s point of view, it would have appealed to our emotions. She just wasn’t forceful enough.

Ultimately, this debate didn’t change my mind one way or the other. However, it was much more entertaining than Obama-McCain I, thanks to Joe Biden’s flair. He had style. She tried her best to recall all the preparation and to pretend to be a populist.

Sure, Sarah had some nice comebacks and good points about Obama’s voting record, but they came off as light punches. In her closing statement, she did hint that Republican voters should vote for the Party.

The bottom line is that the Democrat Obama will tax the corporations and rich guys that create our jobs. The bottom line is that healthcare for everyone sounds like a bureaucratic and expensive nightmare. The bottom line is that liberals aren’t as tough with foreign dictators as conservatives. On the other hand, Republicans believe in 100% unregulated free enterprise and the lower class and middle class be damned.

Anyway, great job by Biden, flaws and all. The way McCain’s campaign is falling (due to Obama’s campaign of “McCain = Bush”, therefore McCain is responsible for the economy and the war’s mistakes), I thought to myself how six years from now, people will be asking “Whatever happened to Sarah Palin?” Perhaps ten years from now, some VH-1 documentary may have a washed up celebrity, like Miley Cyrus reminisce about how Sarah took the nation by storm during the RNC, but then kinda faded out of existence.

But we’ll see…it’s not over yet. There are still some battleground states like Ohio, Missouri, and Iowa. There’s no telling how the turnout will be.

Debate Tally:

Obama-McCain I: Draw
Biden-Palin: Biden

Wikileaks Gawker Palin E-mails Yahoo HACKED

Click here for a full report showing Sarah Palin’s Yahoo e-mail account that has been hacked today.

I won’t be posting screenshots or her friends’ e-mail addresses. I hope the folks over at Gawker and Wikileaks have the money for lawyers because this sounds like a huge mess.

Sarah Palin may actually get into some trouble as well since she was using a private e-mail account for government work. It may all tie in to the Alaska trooper investigation, too.

Suffice to say, this is yet another distraction that the American voting public has to deal with.
