There are nine flexor tendons that flex your fingers. Each of these tendons is protected by a sheath that allows the tendons to glide easy when you move your fingers and thumb. There is also a nerve called the median nerve, which sends messages to the hand.

Repetitive hand and finger movement (many times causes by using the computer keyboard) causes the tendon sheaths to become irritated and swollen. This pinches or compresses the median nerve, which leads to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)- pain and a cut-off blood supply.

Here is a brief list of common causes of CTS: typing, writing, mousing, assembly line work, operating a cash register or similar machine, and pregnancy.

Are there any treatments that allow carpal tunnel relief?

Yes, IMAK offers a complete line of carpal tunnel syndrome pain relief products, including the IMAK SmartGlove, which is guaranteed to provide carpal tunnel relief from CTS pain and discomfort.

Key benefits of the SmartGlove include an increase of comfort and circulation, ensures correct wrist position, the cushioning and protection of the underside of your wrist, and it is reversible to fit your left or right hand.

South Florida: no party dance techno trance radio

A lot of people I know who come down to the "party capital of the United States" are always shocked when they turn on the car radio and can't find the "dance station". South Florida's clubs (the all-encompassing term for any establishment with alcohol and poor lighting) are well known for their dance songs.

Well, here's the story:

Back in the early to mid-1990's Power96 was much more varied than it is now (it is strictly rap + hip hop). Before online music, iPods, and Youtube, you had to go to a dance club to hear any dance, techno, or trance songs or know a cool person that had the CDs mixes. (Or if you were computer savvy, have access to the forbidden fruit: newsgroups).

Power96 would have all the new tunes, remixes, and were transmitting live from some clubs on Friday and Saturday night. Y-100 was live sometimes, too. Pretty good gig, since they didn't have to pay royalties to any of the original DJ's.

Power96 eventually made some changes, lost the ratings war to 99 Jam, and fired the entertaining on-air personalities.

Napster- the first mainstream and popular filesharing song service- allowed millions of people to download dance and techno mixes. (Newsgroups always have had dance songs to download- you just needed a newsgroup reader.)

Eventually South Florida (Broward/Dade/Palm Beach Counties) lost their classical music radio station- 93.1 (or was it 93.3?) , and it became a dance station. It may have lasted a year or so. The songs were great, although they were clearly MP3's and there was no real DJ- it seemed kinda automated and repeated a lot. But it did expose me and my friends to some fantastic tunes. By then (around 2000-2001) filesharing was in full swing, as were the countless message boards discussing the top mixes and songs. Then it was pretty much canceled out of the blue.

No radio station ever made another attempt to the best of my knowledge.

Fast forward to 2008. The car radio plays a very small aspect in our lives now. Original content is found on the news radio stations, where political talking heads tell us their manifestos.

With iPod hookups, custom-made CD burning from the MP3s downloaded from the Internet, and satellite radio, there is simply no demand for radio station variation.

Of course, at home or the office there are hundreds of free streaming radio stations from around the world, not to mention the video websites, or if you want to be illegal- LimeWire and BitTorrent.

So yes, it's ironic that the dance capital of the U.S. doesn't have a dance radio station, but it's a sign of the times. Also the dance, trance, techno music industry is different than other types of music (not mainstream, remix city, copyright issues, few mainstream personalities, etc.)

A bit of my own history- electronic music has always interested me, more so than the other music genres (although I like them, too). I know that critics hate it, and most civilians think it's soulless and repetitive, but to me, I always liked music themes and notes more than the actual lyrics. If I wanted a deep song, I can read a poem. I was always addicted to video game music as a kid, and dance music was just an extension of that for me. As a teenager, I was able to create any emotion or scene in my mind while listening.

How to get a basic car loan

Getting new or used Car Loans has never been easier thanks to BasicCarLoans.com. However, the stuff smoked onstage in the cigarette was a International Oddities product taken from the actual material used in Pineapple Express. Robert Downey Jr. was pretty amazed, wasn't he?

The bottom line is that the International Oddities product line is not a prop or fake weed; it's called a RYO (roll your own) legal bud hybrid. Many say that these products represent the future of smoking in the United States. You can find them in smoke shops nationwide, or directly from InternationalOddities.com. For over 25 years, IO has been the world's most popular provider of legal and herbal buds. Their buds and accessories have been mentioned in High Times magazine, Maxim, Penthouse, Magical Blend, AP Press, Skunk, and many others.

Beth Ann Chester High School Sex Teacher Jail

Beth Ann Chester, 27, a former Health and Gym teacher, was sentenced 1 1/2 to 3 years in jail for having sex with the then 14-year old boy student.

She had sent him nude pics, had sex in the parking lot, and met several times. Chester was married. She can't own a cell phone or have Internet access when she's released.

In many ways, it is a tough sentence because being on probation with restrictions really sucks, but in other ways, this is a really light sentence.

It's light because she's a child molester. And if a male teacher did this, I think that his sentence would be stiffer. There is also a stigma that Chester and the boy had a "romance", but the fact is Chester is a sexual predator.

In my ideal world, she (like all child molesters) would be sent to a place where she can be rehabilitated, because she is sick. Give Freedom Debt Relief (FDR) a call to find out about their "Debt Reduction Program", and why it is the best solution for most of consumers.

FDR is confident they can lower your monthly payments when compared to credit counseling organizations, especially since many of those companies work with, and are funded by the very creditors that are harassing you- and they split the interest profits at your expense.

FDR knows that getting a debt consolidation loan puts your assets, car, and home at risk. They also haven't found anyone who actually comes out ahead by borrowing money, since the debt is not actually reduced since you are dealing with the interest on the loan.

Bankruptcy is serious business. Yeah, you may keep creditors at bay, but it stays on your credit report and record for 7-10 years, and has the social stigma of being a scar that will follow you for the rest of your life. The actual court records can last for your lifetime. Have fun trying to get a new home, a car, a lease, or insurance with that black mark on your record.

And, I've already blogged about how paying the minimum payment due on credit cards is one of the worst ways to manage your life.

If you want to find out about the alternative to actually reduce debt, check out FreedomDebtRelief.com.

Leryn Franco and the German Olympic Playboy

The MEDIA really has been covering the 2008 Summer Olympics intensely. and will give an early morning alert to supporters, perhaps as soon as Wednesday morning.
Obama's deliberations may have remained remarkably closely held, but DailySkew spies have found out his four choices, and the odds stacked for each one. display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://skew.dailyskew.com/uploaded_images/george-lucas-706258.jpg" alt="" border="0" />If George Lucas had any respectability left as a creative genius, it was all lost this week as critics have seen the stink-fest called The Clone Wars. I am ashamed to say that all of Lucas's previous bad movies were somewhat enjoyable to me- especially after a 6-pack and a [Edited] on a Friday night.

But this movie? A clone a clone of a clone? This rehash (didn't we see this on the Cartoon Network) is trying to fill a story gap when there simply was no opening. The "movie" flows like a PlayStation 3 video game- lightsaber battles, generic dialog, and kid-funny moments. This is not an epic story. In fact, this story did not have to be told at all.

Can you say straight to DVD? Actually-can you say: it should have been put on StarWars.com for FREE? They hired a John Williams clone. They hired clones of the original voice actors. Pale imitations. Made in Singapore.

Yes folks this is the new George Lucas, although the old one was overrated. too. Post-Jedi, all of his films have been all style with no substance. The script is loaded with baby-talk that would offend and disgust even his most loyal 35-year old GEEKS.

Look, nobody cares anymore. We've seen the Storm Troopers miss thousands of times now. There's nothing new here. The new Soul Calibur video game probably has more depth than this movie. The fight scenes take up the bulk of the running time.

Yes, nostalgia is a big seller. It worked for the 2nd trilogy from the sales end (NOT the quality end). Yet this CGI monster never feels like a Star Wars movie (not that they were any good, but still...) The opening crawl is replaced by a voice over, and no one says "I have a bad feeling about this." The theme song has been forgotten, replaced by a new electric guitar beat that feels from a 1998 toy commercial.

The landscapes are straight out of a developer's PC game application. The characters are stiff, like 1990's video game home systems. They look like wooden puppets. In other words, the CGI is overrated.

Crap. Crap. Crap. Batman & Robin class. At least the "Star Wars Holiday Special"- previously regarded as the worst spin-off in the Star Wars universe- had some... charm. You will long for the ill-fated Ewok series.

Yeah, I know the routine- I bash a movie and DailySkew people like Vahl and Dark Truths are going to see it with their kids, and come back and tell Damian "It wasn't that bad".

"It wasn't that bad."

Yeah, right.

Yeah, for a 5-year old. A 5-year old that can't distinguish quality when he or she smells it. It's more of a marketing scheme than anything else.

True Star Wars fans will realize that Lucas is marketing the new franchise and TV series to KIDS. These 30+ men will feel old, and that all that data and trivia that they stored in their memory banks is...useless.

Go ahead..see it. But I couldn't resist...only because my co-workers were GUSHING about this great ceremony.

The little girl that the world fell in love with was FAKE. The real girl won the contest fair and square but wasn't good-looking enough.

To fill empty seats during the actual games, the Chinese have been drafting large numbers of yellow-shirted 'fans', who clap and cheer equally for opposing teams.

Read here about how China tricked the world. Shame on all of you for giving China the benefit of the doubt.

By the way, I *know* how it's easier to stage fireworks, and how fireworks really did go off" "The faked fireworks were actually set-off at the stadium, but because of potential dangers in filming the display live from a helicopter, viewers at home were shown a pre-recorded, computer-generated shot" blah blah blah blah.

I know what The Apologist says, "28 footprints outside of the stadium were actually lit and real - only the *shot shown on TV* was fake". I find it ironic that many technical oriented people LOVED the ceremony and will defend deception for eternity. In fact, more and more people in the medical community are leaning towards most mental illnesses being related to chemical imbalances and the physical workings of the brain.

What I don't support, however, is people not being honest with their licensed professional who is trying to help them. I have a lot of experience being at both sides of the couch. And I can tell you that most people are not honest with their therapists or medical doctors.

Since the average person only tells his or her side of the story, it should be the therapist's goal to make the person see the other side, and to show that playing the blame game and feeling like a victim does not help anyone.

However, many therapists actually agree when their clients rant and rave. For example, people have told me that if you complain about your parent, the therapist will actually take your side or just accept it as fact. Case in point- 3 separate family members see 3 therapists, and they all complain about each other. They walk away thinking they are "right" and everyone else is "wrong", since the therapist reflects their rants.

Most patients don't tell their doctors that they use drugs either. They are embarrassed, scared, and know it's wrong. It kinda defeats the purpose of seeing someone for help if you're going to lie. It's also a waste of money. I mean, if you have gout, and your doctor puts you on a diet, but you decide to drink alcohol every night anyway, and you LIE about it, the doc is not going to see any results and wind up changing medicine that could have helped you, and no one benefits.

It's important to realize doctors and therapists are human, too. They have other patients, put in long hours, are prone to mistakes, and don't have the time or desire to figure out if you're lying.

Then you have marriage counseling, which actually originated by the folks who believed in genetic super-men. The marriage counselor will try to compromise and balance everything out, when in fact, many times one member of the marriage is clearly the slacker. And there's one very small detail about marriage counseling: heaven help you if you say something your wife doesn't like. That's a LONG DRIVE HOME, folks.

By the way, for those of you who do not know about psychiatry sessions (the act of giving medicine), they are 15 minutes, and the doc writes a prescription for you. You check in once a month and get a refill and update him on how the medicine is doing. Having trouble sleeping? The doc will give you another prescription. Wanna try Viagra? Tell the doc about your E.D. Generally, there's no true session; the doc just wants to be legally sure you have a need for meds. It's the Prozac world we live in (not that there's anything wrong with Prozac). However, meds can only do so much. If you need to work on seeing reality better, that's where a psychologist or therapist comes in. If you have problems functioning or have addictions of any kind, I'd recommend seeing both kids of mind doctors.

In conclusion:

1) Always tell your doctor or therapist the truth, because otherwise he or she can't help you. The key is to be honest, no matter how ugly or embarrassing you think it is, even if you let the doctor "down" by not following the instructions from last time.
2) Therapists need to focus on positive things and not nod their heads and agree with blaming others.
3) Acceptance, forgiveness, having the right perspective, positive constructive criticism (not taking things personally), and spiritual growth should be key factors of a session.

China Olympic Opening Ceremony and Coverage

Hey, guess what? I was caught on Dateline NBC by Chris Hansen. I thought my life would be over. But the truth is I only served a few months in prison, and got my old job back as a computer programmer. No one knew. I would have thought being on Dateline would have ruined my chances to make something for myself, but my father called my job as said I had to go back to India for six months. Now I'm back, and working at my old place. None of my co-workers have any idea. I thought it was very ironic and interesting that Americans just don't watch that show or can even remember what I look like or my name. It also shows you how overrated it is to be on national television.

McCain Obama Paris Hilton commercial

First, the "controversy":

And now, Paris Hilton's response:

See more Paris Hilton videos at Funny or Die

This stuff has been getting a large amount of press. From home, office, school, and industry solutions, this site provides all the cutting edge label printers and postage solutions. It is loaded with tips and advice as well.

Now since school is starting back up pretty soon it's time for parents to think about school supplies. When I was a kid, I remember the school rules that all my supplies had to have been labeled with my name. Back then we only had the blue label with the white lettering, but now there are all sorts of Color labels to choose from.

At my first day of school, I was kind of nervous about being away from my family for the first time, but I made friends very quickly. I truly had no idea why every pencil case, lunch box, gym shorts, clothes, toy, book, book bag, or any other of my numerous school supplies had to be labeled. It seems to be that we all went label crazy, but it was and still is mandatory.

And let's not forget the book covers. Thankfully DYMO offers awesome flashy school book labels to organize things better. Now parents also have to worry about labeling CD cases, something that wasn't around when I was a kid.
