Isao Machii has superhuman reflexes and can anticipate the movement and location of a shot bullet in his direction. Therefore he can sense things that the human eye can not register. He also appears to be an expert swordsman if one gives points to precision (he cuts objects ih half perfectly).
In the Star Wars universe he’d be a Jedi Knight. In DC Comics, he’d be Deathstroke the Terminator. In Marvel Comics, he’d be something like the Taskmaster or even Daredevil. In the G.I. Joe universe, he’d be like Storm Shadow. Isao Machii could be from Lone Wolf and Cub.
So what does Isao Machii on Real Life Earth?
Do you think he’s an assassin? Bodyguard? Crime-fighter? Street-fighter? Mortal Kombat champion? Gang leader? Conqueror? Soldier? Freedom fighter?
Nah, Isao Machii just makes appearances on cheesy Japanese gameshows, Stan Lee’s Superhumans, and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. His website is in Japanese. It looks like he’s claiming to be a Samurai. He says he was taught by an old master age of five and has now graduated to become the headmaster of a samurai school.
But in terms of actual work it appears he just cuts stuff and gets paid for media appearances. I guess he charges admission to his school.
Just goes to show you fiction is more exciting than the real world.
It’s like when the “World’s Strongest Man” (guys like Mark Henry,Bill Kazmaier, Ted Arcidi) using their herculean strength to…become pro wrestlers. At least Arnold Schwarzenegger used his powers to become a movie icon and political leader. But crime fighting and super heroes on this earth? [This is where a noble comic book character says that police officers and firefighters are the real heroes.]
I mean, think about it- you are superhuman with a sword. What can you do? Cut sushi real fast?
