Credit card scams, telemarketing scams, and Internet scams are all reasons to get identity theft protection. There are so many thieves out there that try and collect your social security number, credit card number, bank account routing number, and pin numbers via false advertising, spam, and fear tactics. Many criminals pose as government helpers over the telephone as well, and use the recession to fear monger their way to get your personal identity.
