Quick Review: Pineapple Express (2008)

Pineapple Express is this generation’s “cool drug” movie. Since surfing the net and smoking weed seem to go hand in hand nowadays, you’ve probably already saw it. It’s loaded with pot references, habits, the awkwardness of socializing with your drug dealer, and other scenes that are extremely funny until you realize how this “subculture” is really the hidden majority in the U.S.

Although The Express is already a cult movie, with Obama rumored to legalize marijuana smoking- thus making it socially and legally acceptable- P.E. has potential to be an all-time classic.

Of course, it’s a movie that only people who smoke recreational (or daily) could truly appreciate the goofiness of. Others would be 100% offended by this stoner comedy romanticizing the drug culture.

Kinda tough for me to truly give it a rating…but I do know that the characters are VERY realistic.

Heck, I was shocked actor James Franco (Spider-Man Green Goblin II) was able to pull off looking and sounding like Ianare.

    Honestly-
For a second I thought that guy on the right was Tashman’s own Ianare Sevi.

At least you recognize that its the hidden majority.
people drank during prohibition too, so really this is no different.
In fact my dads side of the family made good money in bootlegging during those days, a lot of interesting stories.
Obama handled the questions of his past marijuana use honestly, like any decent man or woman should.
“I inhaled, that was the point” etc.
unlike Bill clinton who probably said one of the stupidest things ever about his past pot-smoking – and such an obvious lie too.
everybody should just tell the truth.

the other politicians and lawmakers probably smoke pot too.
If federal employees have to take a drug test then all the politicians and lawmakers should be forced to do likewise.
If they dont like this I would tell them –

you dont like having to pee in a cup and get tested for what you do in your personal life huh?

now you know how the rest of america feels.

Honestly, pot is pretty much already socially acceptable, sort of, at least among most people.

Legalizing it would just kind of bring everybody out of the closet on this one.

Its been going on all along, even before the hippies of the 60’s (check the link)

I didnt see the movie, I heard it wasnt very good, but if youre recommending it Ill at least give it a look.

I hope Obama does the right thing and legalizes marijuana for adults.
If he did this the economy would improve overnight with a new industry that america is suited for.

People who are against pot should at least treat it like homosexuality, you dont have to appreciate it, or engage in it but you have to leave others alone who do.

this is both real peace and real freedom.
the constitution was printed on hemp paper, and was legal when the country was founded.

Did the founding fathers smoke herb?

    You do the math.

I believe history on this subject has been censored probably starting with willian randolph hearst.

Im not advocating drug use, I simply believe in letting people live their lives.
It should be regulated like alcohol and the only place the users freedom should end is where it endangers others.

thats all im trying to say.

    enjoy the link everybody.
and happy new year, lets make the next one better than the last one.
