  • Comment on The REAL Benefits of Marijuana Use by Morgana DeChaine July 29, 2010
Not a problem son. It just irks me when people talk about marijuana usage from a general standpoint. I'll go ahead and say that I smoke cannabis on average of 2 to three times a week. Usually after work to decompress while checking out my business on the internet. During the day I am a RN at a local hospital. Now you want to talk about drug use there. I […]

Battleground states: Can McCain still win this election? President Obama?

When everything is said and done, the New York Times believes that there will only be 6 states that are up for grabs in the 2008 presidential elections: Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, New Hampshire, and- of course- Florida.

You probably are wondering: how in the world is McCain picking up the majority of the United States? The answer is that the red states in this map vote Republican no matter what.

Anyway, let’s take a look at previous elections for these six states and see if we can predict this election right now:

Nevada: Bush I, Clinton, Clinton, Bush II, Bush II

Colorado: Bush I, Clinton, Dole, Bush II, Bush II

Ohio: Bush I, Clinton, Dole, Bush II, Bush II

Virginia: Bush I, Clinton, Clinton, Bush II, Bush II

New Hampshire: Bush I, Clinton, Clinton, Bush I, Kerry

Florida: Bush I, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II*, Bush II

And let’s look at the 2008 primaries:

Nevada: Hilary and Romney

Colorado: Obama and Romney

Ohio: Hilary and McCain

Virginia: Obama and McCain

New Hampshire: Hilary and McCain

Florida*: Hilary and McCain

Predictions:

Assuming 260 points for Obama and 200 for McCain:

Nevada: Obama (5 points)

Colorado: Obama (9 points)

Ohio: McCain (20 points)

Virginia: Obama (13 points)

New Hampshire: Obama (4 points)

Florida*: McCain (27 points)

Final score: Obama 292- McCain 247

Any of those states dumb enough to vote for bush twice, after knowing what bush was will probably vote McCain.
I guess what those people want is war war war.
They dont care what country we are at war with as long as we are bombing somebody, and showing the rest of the world whos the boss of it.
at least thats the impression I get.
Why else would anybody vote for bush twice?
    yeah, were in trouble.

they dont want any free health care, affordable housing, college education, or jobs that pay money, because all that stuff is “socialism” and requires the intervention of the federal government and if that happens they are not “free” anymore, according to Limbaugh, who in the minds of these people is a genius.

They wanna be free to not be able to go to a doctor because they cant afford it, free to not be able to pay the rent or mortgage, free to not be able to go to school because they cant afford that either, and free to work but to not get paid for it.
The are the good republican “heartland values” that these dumbasses represent.

Just as turkeys will look up to the sky when its raining with their mouths open until they drown, because they are animals too stupid to survive in nature, these people will ignore their own best interests of self-preservation and not vote for a young black man that comes from a city whose got an arab sounding name, like one o them muslims.

I could be wrong, but this is what im scared of.

We wanna progress as a society and theyre ruining it for the rest of us.
sometimes I just think it would be best if we just sort of split off from “the heartland” that these politicians always have to pander to, and we can have different countries for different ideologies.

after all, at some point the cro-magmons had to split off from the neanderthals in order to progress and develop too, maybe its time for something like that again.

I dont know, I guess Im just rambling now like some idiot.

I guess this environment is all because of 911, and all it would take was some kind of terrorist threat around election time and its president McCain after that.
Im not overly optimistic like the other Obama supporters are, to me the world is a dark and scary place.

When I see that map, I think we are in trouble,
and I remember that these mugwumps that say obama is a muslim that will take guns away vote too.

I have no faith in the american people.

In all honesty I wish I had the money to move to Europe where I could just start over and not give any of this crap a second thought.

the Obama picture with the roses made me laugh,(that was a good one Damian.) but the Shepard Fairey representation is pretty cool, as are all the things he does.

    peace.

Very trying times, indeed. I wonder how the history will look upon this era.

  • Barry Allen says:

The NY Times map assumes Obama won’t win Indiana, but he actually has a chance to pull the states leaning towards McCain.

This election will be an Obama landslide.

People are tired of Bush, who needs to be brought up for war crimes.

Who is the real Barack Obama?

He’s a damn liar! Get him. He’s bad for our country.

I’m mad, I’m really mad. And what’s going to surprise you, is it’s not the economy – it’s the socialists taking over our country.

    Nobama!Nobama!Nobama!

Guilt by association? Why is it all right for Obama to consistently pronounce McCain guilty by association with Bush, but when it comes to Obama associating with Ayers, Acorn, Rezko, Farrakhan and TWENTY years of sitting in a racist church and calling Rev Wright his mentor that is like an Uncle to him, it is wrong to place quilt by association? I was always told if you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas. How many times does Obama have to have a flea bath before people notice a pattern and start wondering if maybe, just maybe he believes the same things they do? Will Obama ever be held accountable?

The problems the United States faces are all coming from the GOP’s lack of abilities to govern in an effective, efficient manner. Too many of these GOP radicals have put out false ideas and reasons behind the fall of the United States from prosperity

  • RIchie says:

As for Obama’s middle name; Does bearing the name Goldstein mean your jewish? Or does Joseph make you Christian? No, of course not. And were Obama to be Muslim, would it matter? Being muslim does not make a person a terrorist. There’s crazy people in every religion. Just look at the Klan, or The People’s Temple, or the Branch Davidians. Real Muslims are actually great people.
