John McCain said that the government should offer a $300 million prize to the person who can develop an automobile battery that leapfrogs existing technology. Although he didn’t make a promise that he would make this offer if elected, the MEDIA will no doubt say that he did.

One thing McCain should consider: many people have already come up with alternatives, but Big Industry has stopped them. In fact, many people will say that an automobile battery that leapfrogs existing technology already exists, as do other methods to make gas mileage more efficient, or even doing away with oil completely.

The key is to 100% break away from Big Industry, and change society’s reliance on oil based fuel completely, something that Obama and McCain will be unable to do.
