Bush Regrets his reign of terror: "I’m sorry"

In an emotional interview to the (London) Times, President Bush expressed regrets for using strong language that made him look like a war monger:
“I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric… ‘bring them on’ and ‘dead or alive’ indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace. I found it very painful to put youngsters in harm’s way. I try to meet with as many of the families as I can. And I have an obligation to comfort and console as best as I possibly can. I also have an obligation to make sure that those lives were not lost in vain.”
Bush also commented on John McCain:
“He’s an independent person who will make his decisions on what he thinks is best.”
and Barack Obama:“I think the fact that the Democratic Party nominated Barack Obama is a statement about how far America has come. Having said that all that, it’s going to be important for the American people to figure out who can handle the task of the 21st Century. It’s a challenging job.”
My opinion:
Bush knows that McCain has to distance himself from Bush as much as possible. I do agree that McCain’s mind is more independent than Bush’s, but McCain will still be controlled by conservative advisers and major corporations who have their own agendas.
Regarding Bush’s “regret” for using strong language (that his speech writers made up)…I don’t see how that’s an apology for anything that he has signed off on for the last 8 years. This “exclusive” interview didn’t reveal anything.

i stopped blaming him a long time ago because its all the wimpy democrats fault for not impeaching him.
they have plenty to go after him on so there really is no excuse.
there is too much corruption in both political parties.
they say that the american people need to “wake up” as if everybody dosent already know that the leadership of our country are a collection of liars and criminals,
they say its the american peoples fault because they need to stand up and say that theyre not going to take it anymore (whatever that means)
the people have protested and made their opinions known, the media has made the corruption of this administration known (although theyve done it in apologist mode)
but almost nobody in washington is doing anything to stop him, or remove him from office even though the overwhelming majority of the public would cheer congress on if they tried to get him and cheney out of there.
its not his fault that he is still the president, there are plenty of good reasons to remove him.
i gotta blame the wimpiness of the democrats for this one.

I agree, R.A.W…we, the people, have spoken during Bush’s 2nd term, and the Dems didn’t try to seriously impeach him. Nancy Pelosi was hyped up to be this rough and tough mover and changer, but she didn’t rally the people that run this country to remove him from office.
The people have spoken (short of a violent revolution), yet no one listens.

Remove him from office? 4 what? 4 Keeping the American people safe for the last 8 years, for chasing down and killing or arresting every terrorist around? Or for making the job of “terrorist” a post that is more and more becoming unfilled. I’m sick and tired of liberals spouting off because they’ve learned if they vote, the treasury will open up for them. Almost all the democratic votes come from the inner city whereas republican votes come from over 30 million square miles of this country. Democracies are doomed to fail as soon as deadbeats realize the treasury of hard earned other people’s money is open to them.
