amazon down

The Internet crowd was truly in a state of panic today, as the U.S. Amazon.com site was down for around 2 hours. Second to ebay in sales, Amazon is one of the cornerstones of daily Internet traffic. The panic was so widespread that it’s stock dropped.

In today’s New Economy, with so many businesses using the Internet for sales, you would think servers wouldn’t go down, but they do. It’s the nature of the game, and by Saturday everyone would have forgotten about it. Now, if amazon was hacked, that’s a different story.

I’m glad I’m not an IT guy working for Amazon, though.
