One Year Later: Virgina Tech

So, what did we learn from the Virginia Tech Massacre?

1) The MEDIA will cash in on whatever they can.
2) American school systems are STILL in need of reform.
3) Society will never change unless each of us hold each other to better standards, starting with parents raising their children the correct way.
4) Nothing.

  1. Vahl says:

I listened to NPR today … they discussed the “One year anniversary” (like it’s a wedding or something) of the shooting.

Predictably, they mentioned the shooter’s name several times, without mentioning the victims by name.

  2. Syn says:

Parents definitely have to do a better job of parenting. Actual parenting instead of acting like their friend or personal ATM machine. I don’t think parents have enough expectations for their kids these days in terms of being responsible or respectful. It’s sad. I have four young kids and it’s hard but nobody said parenting was easy. I think too many parents like “easy” though.

  • Roadkill: Dead Raccoon, Death, Rebirth, End of Suffering
This time around I realized that the raccoon was free from suffering now. It's a shame its life had to end like that- it was blameless; humans built roads in the middle of his ancestor's forest. Progress and technology broke that raccoon's legs and took his life tonight. But now the suffering has ended for it. I mourned the raccoon and the way […]

ust a quick observation before I run: I jumped from watching 1980's pro wrestling to the 1991 Survivor Series because WWE put up the whole PPV online for a limited time. It never fails to amaze me how much things change. It was like I was in a time machine from 1987 to 1991... […]
