DID the Joker kill Heath Ledger?
Jack Nicholson on Heath Ledger's Death: 'I warned him'
Jack Nicholson said yesterday that he "warned" Heath Ledger.
These words are very cryptic. Was the message board poster correct yesterday:
"Maybe he took the role too seriously, you know? Maybe he took the Joker thing to heart. Maybe he got into the role too much ... maybe the Joker in him had to KILL Heath Ledger. Just a thought."What about when Heath said he was"stressed out a little too much" and had trouble sleeping while portraying the Joker, a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy."
There is no denying that anyone who underestimates the Joker's legacy or character is bound to pay. Just ask Alexander Luthor at the end of INFINITE CRISIS:Labels: comics, deaths, entertainment

It's too bad he didn't embrace the Joker character more. Maybe then he could've laughed his problems away, instead of being all serious and sleepless.
Look! A shark! Jump!
How could a guy who laughed so much playing the Joker be so sullen in real life? Didn't he learn anything from the character?
Maybe he figured out that life was a joke and that we're the punchline. Once he knew that, he couldn't take it anymore.
I can relate.
Van-Zee ... didn't you used to post on the DC message boards?
Van-Zee, I'm revoking your pass until further notice. Back to class.
And nobody asked your opinion, Comedian.
I'm sorry. I guess what I wrote doesn't make any sense. Please forgive me.
I said back to class, boy!
Oh, wait, I think that was Van-See. Sorry. My mistake.
Sock puppet alert. Is it the weather?
Guilt.
I think batman looks amazing & heath really put his all into the role! He is one amazing actor & he deserves respect for how much he put into his work..not peoples 'told you so's'
RIP heath :)
I wish people would leave him alone. That man was one incredible actor & he made one fantastic Joker. He didn't intentionally kill himself like people keep assuming, it was an accidental overdose. And let's be honest, do you think any of you could sleep knowing you were playing a criminal mastermind, a psychotic clown-like creep?! I doubt it. Sometimes you shock yourself & you can't handle it. That's probably what poor Heath did. But don't be so critical on him for this, he did a brilliant job of the Joker & let's remember him as the great & extremely talented actor he was. R.I.P x
I just saw the movie this past weekend and could not believe how scary and funny the Joker was. Heath Ledger did an amazing job at portraying this character. It's a shame that he couldn't live for the praise! God bless his little girl<3
I eat insanity for breakfast. Ledger was weak, leave acting to the professionals.
@ Van-zee. 10/10
I personally think all of you people should mind you own business. A comic book character didn't make him accidentally O.D on prescription drugs. Lets open our eyes and see that it was obvious he had more than just a character he was pretending to be on his mind. "Everyone should just shut up and mind their own business" (Christian Bale)
heath ledger was amazing in this movie. he was an incredible actor and deserves complements not "i told you so's". he put his heart into this movie and it might have been to much for him. he didnt kill himself it was an accident. so you guys should respect him instead of saying he should got more into character. lets see you guys try and do a good a job as he did and be able to sleep at night. R.I.P. heath!
I found myself personally drawn in when matching this movie to the Joker character. He's a part in all of us (i hope :P) and I certainly wouldnt be able to take the role in a movie and not be able to obcess on it, want to get it spot on, even if it meant going insane to get it right? Lmao, im just very baked and randomly came across this...?
Wow
i think that this anonymous freak who keeps saying that heath was a crappy actor and "eats insanity" for breakfast needs to shut up!!!! Heath was a great actor and did a great job in the Dark Knight... I wish he was still alive because then they could make a sequal; it would be hard to take that role and not have dreams or thoughts without the role in your mind, yes it could be part insanity because the role has such an intense impact but my god he died from a PERSCRIPTION drug overdose... and personally if i took on that role, i'd be freaked out: it was such a great character and personality but i would NOT want to sleep knowing i was playing a phyco, murderer clown, who laughs when he gets beat up....!!!!! r.i.p heath!!! <3 PS that role might have gotten a little bit out of control and into his mind... partly to make him take a drug overdose. but he had a lot of pressure on him... and comedian, call the suicide hot line because it sounds like u r having a hard life so call them!
I WISH HEATH WASNT DEAD
I agrre with the last post! Heath was any amazing actor. He portrayal of the joker was one of the most increible things i have ever seen. Im just hoping that he comes back in five years, saying" really sorry guys I just needed a break." I know it aint gonna happen... but i can live in hope. He seemed a proper nice, down-to-earth guy, and its sounds corny but the world is worse off without him.
Missing you Heath!
I don't know Heath but i miss the dude he seems like a really cool guy. He was an amazing actor, well for batman at least. I never really saw his movie. I have to say though, ever since i first heard that he was in some gay cowboy movie called broke back mountain i though he would be the worst joker ever, man i was wrong. Sorry for ever doubting you buddy, you were awesome. R.I.P
I think this is absolute crap. Heath said in an interview that playing the joker was one of his favorite roles. Yes, he was having trouble sleeping, but he loved what he did; he only wished he could have lived in peace with the thing he loved most in this entire world - his daughter.
So, whoever thinks this is what killed him -
you guys are dense beyond reason.
i was kinda upset that Harley Quinn didn't make an appearance :( how cool would that have been?
I can see that playing the joker took its toll on him. Its kindof a hard role to play, and once you step into it, it could be quite hard to step out of. if you keep thinking like him unintentionally, it can take a toll on your natural character...conflict of mentalities, and bam, suicide, accidental or not.
Heath Ledger sucks. He played in Broke back Mountain. so you know he likes dick. Batman was a really good movie but a comic book character doesnt make you Overdose. Get real. Stop telling yourself lies. if a comic book made him crazy i pray for all your kids
Heath! Your a faggot!
if i was heath i could sleep normaly....: i personnaly love the joker and i would love to play his character.
since now i love heath, as an actor, he's an amazing actor, it's for me, incredible....he's the only best joker...in life, for me.
i'm already missing him, damnit :(
RIP heath, i want you alive..
Well guys you all sound rilly fucking gay i mean come on how can you have feelings for someone you didnt even know you all need to get real alot of celebrities pretend suicide. But then again look at Bruce Lee's son he got killed on set what shit is that. Anyway i have herd its a great movie and Heath plays a great role! But seriously guys i see people saying boo hoo i miss him get a life you have never met him millions of people die in a week WHAT do you cry all the time saying OOOHHHH i miss this that and the other person GET REAL.
Honestly. He was such a phenomenal actor and I honestly was able to believe that he was the Joker and not some guy acting that it would be hard not to scare yourself into that train of thought. If we all did the job as well as he did we might've too. But, regardless, I don't think name calling, saying I told you so, or anything else is necesary. It is soo immature. Are you all 4? God, give me a break! Cut the guy some slacl.
Hey anyone who says he was weak is so f***ing full of themselves that it's pathetic. He was fantastic you would do so badly that the movie wouldn't sell even on the 1st night!
And Comedian he had a drug overdose so come on! It was b/c he took his role too seriously not b/c he was weak or not happy that people weren't laughing!
lliz-
you say you could do all that heath couldn't but heath was a professional and if he got trapped in that world than you definetly would. I would bet my life on it. You haven't been, are not, and will never be more talented; get over it.
anonymous: Didn't you say, "Ledger was weak, leave acting to the professionals"? I think you're just jealous...
Heath was a fantastic actor who I have always loved. He did so many brilliant films but he made The Dark Knight to be the best film of the year! He played the Joker so well, and think that people look too deep into things and see things that aren't really there!
Heath Ledger was a talented actor who played an amazingly funny, scary and crazy joker--just as it should have been played. Maybe the role didn't help his mental health, but he was already having troubles, already taking drugs, already over the edge....He chose to leave this world, whether he was going to do it slowly over a few years, or quickly they way it happened.
